In 2013, da Silva finished second at the Rio de Janeiro Half Marathon, placed 11th at the London Marathon and won the 5,000m at the Brazilian Championships. She is also past champion of the Buenos Aires Half Marathon.

Personal Notes:

Da Silva says competing at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was an amazing experience. “I loved running together with the best runners in the world and I realized my dream of representing my country, Brazil.” She is a member of the Pinheiros Sports Club and said her results have helped improve the level of other female runners in Brazil. Da Silva says she helps support her family through athletics and her goal is to compete in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She is single and likes to read books.

“Elite athletes and amateurs have the same goals- that is to do their best. But independent of the records or victories, we are together to celebrate the big party of the Boston Marathon.”
