Career Notes:

Flomena Chepchirchir won her first marathon in 2013 in Seoul and later in the year finished second in Frankfurt with a personal best 2:23:00. She has also been successful in the half marathon distance having won the 2012 Lille Half Marathon in 68:06, the 2011 Zwolle Half Marathon in 68:22 and the 2011 Den Haag City-Pier-City Half Marathon in 69:06.

Personal Notes:

Chepchichir trains in Embu, Kenya, with her husband Jason Mbote, who is also a marathon runner and her coach. The couple has two sons Samuel Mbote and Danson Mbote. Chepchichir likes to go to church and listen to gospel music. She says running has been able to help her support her parents. “They helped me when I was young and I am really happy that it is now my turn to help them.”
