Career Notes:

Earlier this year Noriko Higuchi won the Osaka Half Marathon in 1:12:44. In 2013 she won the Virginia Beach Rock ā€˜n’ Roll Half Marathon and finished runner up at the Sendai International Half Marathon. Her career highlight remains her win at the 2011 Tokyo Marathon. Higuchi competed for her country at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 2010. If she wins in her Boston debut, she will be the first Japanese woman to earn the title.

Personal Notes:

Higuchi trains in Kyoto, Japan, but for her Boston training she prepared in Boulder, Colorado, with marathon elite Lidia Simon and her coach Liviu Simon. Higuchi began running at age 13 and after graduating from Ritsumeikan University with a degree in economics; she affiliated with the Wacoal Corporate team. Higuchi currently works for Wacoal in the International Department.
