Brigid Kosgei is a young talent from Kapsait, Kenya. New to the marathon distance, she won her first three marathons and was runner-up at the Lisbon Marathon in a personal best 2:24:25. In addition to three marathons run in 2016, Kosgei won the San Silvestre 10K, the Seoul Nike Women’s Half Marathon and the Ndakaini Half Marathon. says Kosgei.

Kosgei is married to Mathew Mitei and the couple has a three-year-old daughter named Faith Jepchumba. When not training, Kosgei likes meeting with friends and watching television.
